A man has been questioned, and released without charge, by Gardai in Naas following an incident involving a group calling itself "sexual predator hunters".
Members of the group, which is based in Northern Ireland, confronted a man in the town on Tuesday night.
The group allege that its members posed as a 14 year old girl, allege that this man sent explicit messages to this persona, and further allege that the man was attempting to groom a person whom he is alleged to have believed was a 14 year old girl.
The group live-streamed the encounter on social media platforms.
A file in respect of the man, who has not been charged, is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
