: 08/13/2017 - 09:20

At least 24 people are now known to have died following protests which have erupted after the re-election of Kenya's President Uhuru Kenyatta.

A 9 year old girl is among the dead with the majority of the deaths in the capital Nairobi, according to the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights.

The protests and violence have intensified as the opposition candidate Raila Odinga rejects the result which saw his rival restored to office.
