Leinster Rugby Stars Denied Entry to South Africa & Liverpool, Spurs & Man City are In Champions League Action

Leinster Rugby has confirmed that Isa Nacewa and Jamison Gibson-Park have been denied entry to South Africa due to visa issues.

The squad arrived at the airport this morning but regulations brought in last December require New Zealanders to have a visa obtained to enter the country.

It remains to be seen if the players are forced to return to Dublin.

Leinster play the Southern Kings on Saturday afternoon in Port Elizabeth with a clash with the Toyota Cheetahs in Bloemfontein to follow next week.


According to today's Irish Independent, Tyrone defender Cathal McCarron is on the verge of a club switch to Athy.

The Dromore player tweeted following the his club's Tyrone senior football championship defeat last weekend that he was saying ‘goodbye’ to his home club.

McCarron, a 2011, '13 and '16 All-Star nominee, has previous links with Athy, where he attended Cuan Mhuire.  He trained with Athy during his time there.  His partner is a native of Athy.

Club chairman Marty McEvoy is quoted in today's report:  “The club would be aware that he (McCarron) would hope to move to Athy

UEFA have opened disciplinary proceedings against Celtic, after a supporter ran onto the pitch during last night's defeat to Paris Saint Germain.

The Celtic fan aimed a kick at French star Kylian Mbappe before being hauled off and arrested.

The feature  Kerry National at 4.05 was won by Gordon Elliot’s Potters Point at 8/1, with amateur jockey Lisa O’Neill landing the Guinness Kerry National for the second year in a row. Lisa won this prestigious race last year on Wrath of Titans, Arkwrisht 8/1 was 2nd, with Bay of Freedom 12/1 3rd.
