Naas General Hospital has stood down its activation of the HSE's Escalation policy.
Yesterday morning it began asking people, where possible, to consider using their GP or KDoc services for initial medical assessment.
That was because of the "high levels of attendances and admissions today".
The hospital has confirmed that, as of this afternoon, the Escalation Policy is no longer in effect, as the number of people on trolleys at the Emergency Dept. had reduced to three.
