According to an analysis, by journalist Colm Keys, in today’s Irish Independent, Kildare ranks 16th highest spender on intercounty teams in the country.
Kildare spent just under €636,000 euro on intercounty teams in 2016, an increase of nearly €14,000 on 2015.
The three highest spending counties were Mayo 1.63 million euro, Dublin 1.51 million euro and Cork and Galway both at 1.37 million euro, while Roscommon and Tipperary also joined the million club at nearly €1.1 million each
The lowest spending was Louth on €295,631, with Wicklow 2nd lowest at €314,473.
The total cost for all counties teams in 2016 was 23.3 million euro.
