A man has been found guilty of murdering a man he described as a “very close friend” in a row over the breeding of Chihuahuas.
Josh Turner of Mooretown in Ratoath, Co. Meath beat Christopher Nevin to death with a hatchet outside a house at Tailteann Road in Navan in 2015.
His friend and housemate Wayne Cluskey was cleared of murder but found guilty of the lesser charge of manslaughter.
Both men were convicted by majority verdicts after seven hours and twenty two minutes of deliberations.
Their sentence hearing is due to take place on Monday week.
