A former cabinet minister says Leo Varadkar has the majority of the support to be the new Fine Gael leader and Taoiseach.
Ivan Yates also claims there isn't room for a third candidate in the race.
Fine Gael's Parliamentary Party, of which Kildare South TD, Martin Heydon, is Chair, will meet this evening where Enda Kenny is expected to announce plans for his resignation.
