Naas District Court has one of the highest conviction rates in respect of drivers holding their phone while behind the wheel.
55% of people appearing before the courts on such charges were convicted between January 2015 and March of this year.
However, of the 12,000 such cases, nationwide, in that period, a third were convicted.
Another 33% of cases couldn't proceed as summons hadn't been issued.
