Series Of Overnight Closures Of Sections Of The M7 Announced.

A series of overnight road closures on parts of the M7 have been announced.

Kildare County Council say they'll be in effect between Kilcullen and the M9 merge on Friday nights/Saturday mornings between August 28th and September 17th

The closure is required to facilitate the resurfacing of the pavement and waterproofing of the M9 tunnel structure.

Kildare County Council Westbound closure notice:

Kildare County Council gives notice, in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, that it intends to close:

Road to be Closed: The M7 westbound, between Junction 11 (M7 & M9 diverge) and Junction 12.

Date of closure: Monday 28th August to Sunday 17th September 2017.

Hours of closure: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily – Sunday nights to Friday mornings

                              10 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Friday nights/Saturday mornings

                              10 p.m. to 9 a.m. – Saturday night/Sunday morning

The closure is required to facilitate the resurfacing of the pavement and waterproofing of the M9 tunnel structure.

Diversion route:-

Divert from the M7 at Junction 11 (M7 & M9 diverge), continue along the M9 until Junction 2 Kilcullen. Traffic should take a left turn at the top of the slip road and proceed towards Kilcullen using the R448 until the junction with the R413. Traffic should take a left turn at the traffic lights and proceed along the R413, rejoining the M7 Motorway at M7 Junction 12 (Newbridge) using the westbound merge slip ramp.

Local and emergency access will be allowed at all times.

Diversionary routes, as agreed with An Garda Síochána, will be clearly signposted.

Kildare County Council gives notice, in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, that it intends to close:

Road to be Closed: The M7 Eastbound between Junction 12 and Junction 11 (M7 & M9 converge).

Dates of closure:  Friday 18 August to Wednesday 6 September 2017

Hours of closure: 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily – Sunday nights to Friday mornings

                               10 p.m. to 7 a.m. – Friday nights/Saturday mornings

                               10 p.m. to 9 a.m. – Saturday night/Sunday morning

Divert from the M7 at Junction 12(Newbridge), Take the 4th exit from the roundabout onto the R413, continue along the R413 towards Kilcullen until the junction with the R448. Traffic should take a right turn at the traffic lights and proceed along the R448, joining the M9 Motorway at M9 Junction 2 using the northbound merge slip ramp. Continue north along the M9 until it joins the M7.

Local and emergency access will be allowed at all times.

Diversionary routes, as agreed with An Garda Síochána, will be clearly signposted.
