Listen: Coveney Says The Race Is Not Over.

: 05/19/2017 - 11:57

Simon Coveney says he's not surprised that Leo Varadkar has opened up an early lead in the race to be the next Fine Gael leader.

A number of Ministers have declared for the Social Protection Minister this morning - including Paschal Donohoe, Charlie Flanagan and Paul Kehoe.

TD Fergus O'Dowd also declared for Leo Varadkar while Deputy Peter Fitzpatrick has said he's supporting Simon Coveney.

Minister Coveney spoke to Clare FM earlier - and said despite early declarations, it's not over.
