Listen: Gardai Say Several Children Have Died By Suicide After Falling Victim To "Sextortion".

: 06/19/2017 - 15:57

Several children have reportedly died by suicide in recent years after falling victim to 'sextortion'.

In cases of "sextortion", victims are blackmailed by the person to whom they sent sexual images, either for money or sexual favours.

Europol says these crimes are skyrocketing but go largely unreported because victims are embarrassed.

The European policing agency has launched a Say No! campaign to prevent sextortion crimes.

Detective Superintendent Declan Daly has this advice for potential targets
