Two Newbridge primary schools have revealed a proposal to refurbish and expand their premises.
The boards of management of St Conleths Infant School & St Conleth & Marys Primary School have jointly lodged a planning application with Kildare County Council.
They want permission for a 20 classroom "temporary system buildings" to be removed on completion of the development
They then want to build a nine classroom school, and reconfiguration of 5 classrooms in the existing school building.
The refurbishment and extension of the infant school will consist a new 2 storey building with 9 classrooms and the reconfiguration and refurbishment of 7 classrooms and associated spaces in the existing school building along with a special needs unit and 4 ballcourts with a total footprint of 2,340sqm, 2 junior play areas of ,a secure hard and soft play area of 200sqm, a sensory garden of 100sqm and and 66 car park spaces,
Kildare planners are scheduled to issue a decision is due on May 8th.
