Reports Simon Harris Raised Concern About Conflict Of Interest In Hospital In 2014
It's emerged Simon Harris raised concerns about a conflict of interest in the governance of St Vincent's Hospital in 2014 - long before controversy over the new National Maternity Hospital developed this week.
The current Minister for Health says the Government won't go ahead with the planned facility on lands owned by the Sisters of Charity unless he's convinced it'll be free of religious interference among a number of other issues.
It's not the first time he raised concerns about structures at St Vincent's.
Speaking when he was a TD on the Public Accounts Committee in January 2014 he had this to say about funding sought for new projects on the land.
