Gardai Continue To Appeal For Information On Robbery And False Imprisonment
Gardai are continuing to appeal for information on an armed robbery and false imprisonment in Athy.
The incident occurred a week ago, at 9pm last Friday April 14th, and no arrests have yet been made.
Staff were locking up a service station on the Kilkenny Road in Athy, when they were approached by two men wearing balaclavas and holding knives.
The men threatened two staff members and allegedly forced them into a back room and demanded money.
The men were unsuccessful in gaining access to the safe and left the scene in a car - with one of the staff members.
The raiders told the second staff member to bring them money from the safe and to meet them on the Kilkenny Road in Athy where money was handed over.
The staff member was released unharmed.
Gardaí believe the suspects were driving a Mazda 323 F and are appealing to anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious to contact Athy Garda Station on 059-8631669 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666111.
