Its understood that judgement has been reserved in a judicial review of An Bord Pleanala's decision to refuse permission for the Maighne Wind Farm in North Kildare and South Meath.
The action, which began in May, is being brought by Element Power, which sought planning permission for the erection of up to 47 wind turbines straddling the Kildare/Meath border.
In October, the national planning authority, in issuing its decision, said such a development would be "premature" in light of the "absence of a national wind energy strategy with a spatial dimension".
The national planning authority also noted as a factor in its decision the lack of "wind energy strategies at local level in County Kildare and County Meath"
Mr. Justice Robert Haughton has indicated that he will deliver his judgement during the court's Michaelmas term, which begins in October.
