Three Kildare Teams Prepare for Weekend; Ireland Women's Rugby Side to be named at lunchtime; Leinster name URC side vs Stormers; WGC continues; N.I and England in Euro action, Racing in Cork

Three Kildare teams will wind up preparations this evening for weekend League games.

Glenn Ryan’s footballers play Meath on Sunday, at 2pm, in the last game to be played in St. Conleth’s Park, ahead of its redevelopment.

A win is a must for Kildare to keep their chances of participation in the All Ireland series alive.

Kfm will broadcast live from St. Conleth’s Park from 1pm on Sunday

 

Diane Ó Hora’s women footballers complete their Lidl League on Sunday, at 2pm, in Hawkfield against Wexford.

Kildare have won all their Division 3 games, apart from the loss to Louth.

 

Joe Quaids county camogie side have a Very Ireland Division 3A semi final vs Carlow in Abbotstown on Saturday at 12 noon.

Kildare won two of their three Division games.

 

Following last night’s win over Latvia, Ireland play France in their Euro opener next Monday in Dublin.

Seamus Coleman picked up an injury playing in his last game for Everton, but Stephen Kenny expects him to be fit for Monday's match.

France play the Netherlands tomorrow.


Northern Ireland begin their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign away to San Marino this evening.

England are in Naples to play Italy.

The Leinster Rugby team to reigning-champions the DHL Stormers in the BKT United Rugby Championship tomorrow evening in the RDS Arena, at 7.35 has been named

Rob Russell replaces the injured Jamie Osborne in the only personnel change from the bonus point win over Edinburgh. Ciarán Frawley moves from full-back to inside centre, with Jordan Larmour moving from the wing to full-back.

Dave Kearney joins Russell and Larmour in the back three, with Liam Turner partnering Frawley in the centre.

Harry Byrne and Luke McGrath continue their partnership at half-back.

Michael Milne, John McKee and Michael Ala’alatoa retain their places in the front row.

Ross Molony is partnered by Jason Jenkins in the second row, with captain Rhys Ruddock, Scott Penny and Max Deegan in the back-row.

 

Connacht have announced the signing of Argentina winger Santiago Cordero from Bordeaux-Begles.

Cordero, who has scored 12 tries in 45 Tests for Los Pumas, has signed a two-year contract at the Sportsground, beginning from the start of next season.

The former Exeter wing has been playing in France for Top14 side Bordeaux since 2019, with 29 tries in 67 appearances

 

After beating Scott Stallings yesterday, Rory McIlroy plays Denny McCarthy this evening in the Group stage of the W-G-C Matchplay in Austin, Texas.

Both Shane Lowry and Seamus Power lost their opening matches.

Lowry plays Mackenzie Hughes, Power plays Adam Hadwin.
