A special meeting of Kildare County Council takes place today, to fill a vacancy created by the General Election.
Sitting Cllr. in the Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District, Patricia Ryan, won a Dáil seat in Kildare South.
She must now vacate her council seat.
Sinn Féin leader, Mary Lou McDonald, has written to Fianna Fáil leader, Micheál Martin, to set up a meeting following General Election 2020.
Ms. McDonald has already met with a number of the smaller parties to discuss government formation.
Solidarity PBP's Ruth Coppinger has lost her seat in Dublin West.
The four candidates elected there are Paul Donnelly SF, Jack Chambers FF, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar FG and Roderic O'Gorman GP.
Labour candidate and former Tanaiste Joan Burton also lost her seat in the constituency.
Sorcha Clarke has been elected in Longford Westmeath.
She's become the first Sinn Fein TD in either county for over 60 years.

Fianna Fail's James Browne feel's the party made the wrong decision in running four candidates in Wexford.
Malcolm Byrne, Lisa McDonald and Michael Sheehan were also put forward by the party in this election.
But Browne feels it has had a negative impact:
Solidarity's Richard Boyd Barrett has retained his seat in Dun Laoghaire.
He's the second TD elected in the constituency following the Green Party's Ossian Smyth.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has been elected in Dublin West in the past hour.
It wasn’t straightforward though as our reporter Stephanie Rohan reports.
Counting in the third round is continuing in Tipperary tonight, with Sinn Féin's Martin Browne still three and a half thousand votes short of a quota.
Independent TD Michael Lowry was elected on the first count earlier this evening
Sitting Fianna Fáil TD Eugene Murphy has conceded defeat in Roscommon-Galway.
After two counts, Independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice has been elected and Denis Naughten will be elected soon.
Count three is underway in Carlow-Kilkenny, with only one candidate elected to the five seats.
