Kildare Gardai say they are "very proud" of the people of the county for "endless calls to donate" items for the community response to Covid 19.
That includes personal protective equipment for frontline health staff.
Gardai have paid tribute to 8 year old Pippa Casey, from Athy, who " spent her hard earned savings on face masks for nurses and Doctors in Naas Hospital. She said she can’t go on holiday this year so she wanted to do something to help make a difference. Well done Pippa!"
Kildare Gardai have, this week, collected and delivered shopping, prescriptions and dinners. "We have also transported people to urgent Hospital appointments and looked after the vulnerable in our Communities."
Gardai are also encouraging anyone who needs help to get in touch: "We are delighted to help, just phone your local station."
