A North Kildare school has re-opened today, after being shut yesterday to enable a "safety risk assessment".
The board of management of Scoil Dara, Kilcock, stated on the school's website on Monday night that the school would not open on Tuesday.
It did not elaborate on why a decision to close the school had been taken, other than to state the assessment would take place.
A sinister message was left on school property and, while not deemed a viable threat, the school was closed as a precaution.
The message claimed '1st Tuesday in December the shooter will come, no one will survive'.
The board of management says, "following consultation with Gardai and relevant agencies", the school is open today.
" Investigations are ongoing."
