Thurs Lunch Sport: Ulster Include Ireland Internationals for Scarlett’s Game; Dublin GAA CEO Costello on Media Criticism of Dubs

: 12/06/2018 - 12:50

Ireland internationals Iain Henderson, Rory Best, Jacob Stockdale and Will Addison are named in the Ulster side for their crucial Champions Cup game away to Scarletts tomorrow night.

Ulster have won one and lost one of their two Pool 4 games to date, while Scarlets have just a losing bonus point.

Best will equal Andrew Trimble’s club record of 71 European appearances.

Kildare’s Marty Moore is named at prop.

The Republic of Ireland has been drawn in the same pool as Russia, Azerbaijan and Romania for the European Under 19 Championship qualifiers.

The games will be played as part of a mini tournament in Russia in March.

Dublin GAA’s John Costello has suggested reducing team numbers to combat negative play in Gaelic Football.

In his annual report, the Dublin chief executive suggests a 13 a side game should be trialled.

In reference to some media criticism of Dublin, Costello says, tongue in cheek, in his Annual Report: "Perhaps Jim Gavin should run up and down the sideline during games, gesturing to the crowd or throwing water bottles around to show his 'passion'.
