36 More People Have Died Of Covid 19; 5,709 People Have Been Diagnosed With The Virus.

A further 36 people are confirmed to have died from Covid19 in the Republic.

This is the highest daily death toll in Ireland since the beginning of the pandemic.

345 new cases confirmed today, as well.

It now brings the death toll to 210 while the number of confirmed cases stands at 5,709

Of those, 200 are in Co. Kildare.

Prof Sam McConkey, from the Royal College of Surgeons says the death rate runs behind the number of cases and the number of new cases appears to be dropping:
