3 Men Remain In Custody Following Incident In Which Shots Were Fired At Kildare Garda.

: 11/07/2017 - 11:56

Three men have been arrested following an incident in Kildare last night in which shots were fired at a Garda.

A burglary took place in Tipperary last night, involving a gang travelling in a high-spec car.

A shot-gun was among the items stolen.

At 9.30pm Gardaí observed a black Audi estate car with a partial registration number 151 G driving at speed through Monasterevin over the draw bridge, Main St and on towards the Kildare Rd.

The black Audi was then observed by a Garda unit at  Ashgrove.

Gardai pursued and the car stopped at  Larch Hill.

The front seat male passenger exited the car produced what Gardaí believe was a shotgun and discharged a shot.

No one was injured; the car fled.

At 10.30pm, Gardaí from the Regional Support Unit stopped a silver Hyundai car at Pollardstown, Newbridge.

Three men, aged 23, 27, and 32, were arrested.

They are being detained at Garda Stations in Tullamore and Portloaise under Section 30 of the  Offences Against the State Act
