Transport Infrastructure Ireland anticipates that it may be in a position to sign contract for a €6.6 million motorway service station at Kilcullen early next year.
The project, which also includes the design, build and fit out of service stations in Gorey in Wexford and the M6 at Athlone, was subject to legal action by an "unsuccessful tenderer".
TII says the judicial review was heard in the High Court in June of last year and the legal challenge was withdrawn in April of this year.
Talks with the preferred bidder have resumed.
Contracts may be signed, and building underway, by mid-2018.
