The Health Minister has warned of the impact scaremongering on social media can have on vaccine uptake rates.
Simon Harris was speaking ahead of a meeting he'll attend along with other EU ministers in Brussels today.
The Irish Daily Mail reports he's expected to raise concerns about myths being spread about vaccines online and on social media.
In particular, Minister Harris will highlight the fall off in uptake of the HPV vaccine in Ireland to 50 per cent a number of years ago after unverified claims were made about it.
