Ireland Ready for Italy & Both Kildare Senior Football Teams in League Action

: 02/09/2018 - 16:51

The Irish team has trained at the Aviva Stadium ahead of their Six Nations clash with Italy.

Dan Leavy and Jack Conan will make their Championship debuts tomorrow.

Jordan Larmour could earn his first cap, while Joey Carbery will make his return from injury – both are named on the bench..

Less than a week after an impressive performance off the bench for Ireland against France, Suncroft’s Fergus McFadden starts on the wing for Leinster's game against Edinburgh in Scotland.

Gerbrandt Grobler will make his Munster debut this weekend.

The South African lock has been named on the bench for tomorrow's Pro 14 match against Zebre at Thomond Park.

The South African  served a two year ban after failing drugs test in 2014.

Munster has released a statement in relation to his selection.

"While some hold the view that rugby should provide no road-back for those that have taken a banned substance in the past, it would not be within the spirit and values of rugby to turn its back on every person that ever made a bad decision, having made restitution."

Joy Neville referees her first Pro 14 match tonight.

The former Irish Women's international will take charge of Ulster's game against the Southern Kings in Belfast.

Connacht host the Ospreys, with Naas Native Craig Ronaldson back in the side.

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are in a good position heading into the second day of the AT and T Pebble Beach Pro- am in California.

The pair have both shot 4 under par opening rounds to lie just three strokes off the lead.

Paul Dunne and Graeme McDowell are 1 under, Seamus Power 1 over, with Padriag Harrington a further three shots back.

Kildare play Tyrone on Sunday in the Allianz League in St. Conleth’s Park at 2pm.

The team won’t be announced tonight around 9pm and is expected to show changes to that which lost to Monaghan last Sunday.

***Kfm will have full commentary of the game in association with Hanlon Concrete Robertstown.

In the Lidl Ladies National Football League, Kildare play Wexford in Hawkfield this Sunday at 2pm in Rd3.

This evening’s weekend Sport Preview will have interviews with both managers Cian O'Neill and Daniel Moynihan.
