At the European Championships, the Ireland 4 x 100 Medley Relay swimming team has been disqualified

Conor Ferguson, Darragh Greene, Brendan Hyland and Shane Ryan had a place in the final after pipping Lithuania to second place in their heat, with Russia 1st.

Their time was good enough for the eighth qualifying final spot, but Ireland were subsequently disqualified for an illegal takeover.

Darragh Greene was adjudged to have left the board too early by 0.8 of a second in the takeover.

In the Athletics, this evening, Thomas Barr runs in the 400 metres hurdles final, while Leon Reid competes in the final of the 200 meters.
