Councillor Mark Wall has been selected as the Labour Party Kildare South General Election candidate.
The selection convention took place in the Clonard Court, Athy, last night, attended by Tánaiste Joan Burton.
Athy Municipal District Cllr. Wall is the son of sitting Labour TD, Jack Wall, who announced some weeks ago that he would not contest the General Election.
Cllr. Wall was first elected in 2009, and has served as Mayor of Kildare, and Caothairleach of the former Athy Town Council.
