The use of facial recognition technology at the New Children's Hospital would be ineffective and raises concerns about data protection.
That's according to the Irish Council For Civil Liberties.
Surveillance cameras have been ordered for the hospital from a Chinese company Hikvision who have been banned in America for alleged spying.
The hospital board says it hasn't yet decided if the system will be used.
However the ICCL's privacy rights expert, Elizabeth Farries says it's use raises alot of concerns.
