Thurs pm Sport: Rice Decision "Soon"; Sexton Injury Doubt; Kildare's Moloney Retires.

Declan Rice says he is ready to make a decision about his international future.

The London born West Ham star has made three friendly appearances for the Republic of Ireland, but has been considering declaring for England.

Rice has been speaking to the London Evening Standard ahead of his 20th birthday on Monday.

He says there was a lot going on earlier in the season, but with most of that is sorted and he will make a choice soon.


Republic of Ireland international Anthony Pilkington has joined Wigan Athetlic on an 18 month deal.

The 30 year old, who has made nine appearance for the Boys in Green, has joined the Latics following a four and half year spell at Cardiff City.

He helped the Welsh club secure promotion to the Premier League last season, but had fallen out of favour with manager Neil Warnock.

Jonathan Sexton is very doubtful for Leinster's Heineken Champions Cup game against Toulouse on Saturday in the RDS, due to a calf problem.

Sexton's situation won't be known until tomorrow lunchtime when Leo Cullen reveals his side.


Chris Farrell will start for Munster in tomorrow night's Heineken Champions Cup game against Gloucester.

Johan van Graan has made six changes from last week's win over Connacht at the Sportsground.

Conor Murray, Rory Scannell and Mike Haley return to the defence.

CJ Stander, Stephen Archer and Dave Kilcoyne come into the pack.


Kildare hurler Mark Moloney announced his retirement last night.

The Celbridge hurler and Christy Ring Cup medallist, has been a stalwart for the county for a decade.

He won 2 Christy Ring Cup medals, 3 National League medals, a Champions 15 All Star Award in 2012 and last year.  He also represented Ireland in the Hurling/Shinty series in 2017


Seamus Power plays in the US PGA Tour's Sony Open, which tees off in Hawaii today.

2017 winner Justin Thomas in among the favourites to win the tournament.

Jordan Speith, Bubba Watson and Masters Champion Patrick Reed are also in the field.
