A Kildare councillor says An Bord Pleanala's oral hearing in to Bord na Mona's plans to increase the volume of waste accepted at the Drehid Landfill has been suspended, until further notice.
The hearing, at the Johnstown Estate Hotel & Spa, Enfield, began at 10am this morning
Last week, Bord na Mona, in a letter, said "appropriate assessment" of its proposals to increase the volume of waste accepted at the Drehid Landfill is now required.
A Natura Impact Statement, is also being prepared.
An Bord Pleanala noted that the "contents and implications of the letter" would be the first item for discussion.
ABP noted, when publishing an amended agenda last week, that, that "without prejudice, all parties are advised that the inspector is minded to adjourn the hearing following this discussion"
Independent Cllr. Padraig McEvoy says the hearing has been suspended, and alleges a "shortfall" in preparation of the NIS is the reason for postponement
