Weds pm Update: Maguire Fit For Denmark Game; Kevin Long Commits to Burnley; Murray Extends IRFU Contract

: 10/10/2018 - 17:20

Seani Maguire says he's fully fit to face Denmark on Saturday.

The Preston striker has played just 15-minutes this season following a lengthy spell out with hamstring problems.

Martin O'Neill hinted yesterday that Maguire would be limited to cameos this week.

Kevin Long has committed his future to Burnley.

The defender has signed a contract extension to keep him at Turf Moor until 2021.

Long has made 55-appearances for Burnley since joining from Cork City in 2010, and coming through a series of loan deals.

Conor Murray has signed a contract extension with the IRFU.

The Lions scrum-half will remain at Munster until the end of the 2022 season.

The Limerick man, who is currently sidelined with a neck injury, has won 67 Ireland caps and played 116 times for Munster.

Scrum-half Kieran Marmion will miss Connacht’s Challenge Cup game against Bordeaux-Begles on Saturday at the Sportsground due to an ankle injury

Conor McGregor has been suspended for one month on medical grounds following his UFC 229 defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in Las Vegas at the weekend.

McGregor's first mixed martial arts contest in almost two years ended when he submitted to UFC lightweight champion Nurmagomedov's rear-naked choke midway through the fourth round.

As a result, the Nevada State Athletic Commission, which sanctioned the event, has banned McGregor from fighting until November 6 and said he was to have no contact training until October 28.

The Tour de France trophy won by Geraint Thomas has been stolen during a cycle show in Birmingham.

It was loaned to bike manufacturer Pinarello and had been on display at venues across the UK along with the team's other grand tour titles.
