A new direct provision centre in Co Clare will provide accommodation for up to 64 adults who will arrive on a phased basis.
The Department of Justice and Equality will be opening the centre in Ennis as a result of the recent nationwide tendering process for accommodation for international protection applicants.
The Clare Lodge had previously operated as a centre from 2001 to 2009.
The department says it's engaging with local representatives to ensure they are fully informed about developments, and information will also be provided to the local community.
It says it's also working with other departments to ensure the necessary services are in place to support the residents.
