Jon Walters is Out of the Play-offs & Colin Keane Extends Champion Jockey Lead to 3

Jon Walters is out of next month’s World Cup playoff.

The Burnley striker has been ruled out until Christmas with a recurring knee problem.

Ireland will play either Italy, Croatia, Denmark or Switzerland in the play-off’s.


The Republic of Ireland has been placed in the second tier of teams for UEFA's new Nations League.

They join Northern Ireland and Wales in League 2.

The competition, which will replace most international friendlies, is due to begin in September next,.

Paraic Duffy has announced he’s retiring as Director General of the GAA from March 31st next.

He has served as Director General since 2008.


Pat Gilroy is the new Dublin hurling manager for a three year term.

Dublin will travel to Boston with Galway, Tipperary and Clare for the Hurling Classic at Fenway Park on November 19th  .


Munster have confirmed that Johann Van Graan will take over as head coach next month.

The South African has been working with the Springboks as forwards coach.

He also won the five o’clock.
