Southbound traffic through the M7 work zone will be moved on to the new carriageway surface, beside the central median, from 6am on Wednesday morning.
Kildare County Council says the first stage will involve splitting the traffic lanes for 2.5 kilometres after the Johnstown exit, to tie in with the section after the Naas South on-slip.
Motorists are advised that, although all lanes are for the M7/M9, they should take the left hand lane only for exiting at Junction 9/Naas South.
This arrangement will facilitate the completion of the new middle lane in this section and following these works two lanes over this section will run on the new surface adjacent to the median.
