Listen: AGSI Says Gardai Haven't Been Trained In How To Administer Road-Side Drug Tests.

Sergeants and Inspectors say it may be some time before roadside drug testing is actually carried out by Gardai, despite the announcement that it may begin tomorrow.

The Road Traffic Act comes into effect on Thursday, but the AGSI says its members, of whom there are 55 in the Kildare Division, haven't received the necessary training.

Garda management say the Traffic Corps has been fully trained in the use of the machines.

General Secretary of the AGSI, Eadestown resident, John Jacob, says the public may have been given the wrong impression:
