Lunch Update: Dublin’s John Small Suspended for Saturday; Kildare Minor Ladies Team Named; Wimbledon Women’s Semi Finals Day.

Dublin must plan without John Small for Saturday's Super 8s clash with Donegal at Croke Park after the red card he received in the Leinster final was upheld by the Central Hearings Committee.

The Ballymun Kickhams player was dismissed for striking Laois' Evan O'Carroll in the final.

The player will serve a one-match suspension.

 

6 Kildare teams are winding down preparations tonight for this weekend.

Tomorrow (Friday) evening, at 7, the minor footballers replay Wicklow in the Leinster semi final in Aughrim.

Saturday at 4pm, the U20 footballers play Kerry in the All Ireland semi final in the Gaelic Grounds Limerick. 

Man of the match against Dublin last weekend was Jimmy Hyland who scored 8 points

The U20 football semi final is preceded at 2pm, by the U21 hurlers vs Kerry in the All Ireland B Quarter Final.

On Sunday at 2pm, the senior footballers play Monaghan in the Super 8 in Croke Park

Kildare’s 2nd Super 8 game vs Galway is on Sunday week, July 22nd at 2pm in St. Conleth’s Park.

Their final Super 8 game against Kerry is fixed for Fitzgerald Stadium Killarney on Saturday, August 4th at 6 o’clock.

Kildare play Wexford in the All Ireland Intermediate championship at 2pm in Baltinglass (note change of venue)

Premier Division leaders Dundalk are in Estonia to play Levadia Tallinn.

Shamrock Rovers host AIK Stockhol.

At Wimbledon today, 2016 runner up Angelique Kerber plays the French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko in the first of the Ladies Singles semi finals on Centre Court this afternoon.

13th seed Julia Goerges then plays seven-time champion Serena Williams.

 

Rickie Fowler holds a share of the lead during the opening round of the Scottish Open near Edinburgh.

The Masters runner up is showing good form ahead of the Open at Carnoustie next week.

He has carded an eagle and five birdies so far today, but a bogie on 13th holes has dropped Fowler back to 6 under alongside Robert Rock and Julien Guerrier

Graeme McDowell is level par.

Pádraig Harrington is a further shot back.
