Irish Harping Recognised By UNESCO As Living Heritage.

: 12/12/2019 - 16:52

Irish harping has today been listed as a living heritage to be safeguarded.

UNESCO has inscribed the practice into its list as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

It describes the harp as being able to embrace diversity and bridge divides.

Two years ago, the Irish uileann pipes were recognised as a unique symbol, and last year hurling was added to the list.
