3 out of 10 people say they feel confident in their ability to speak Irish.
A new study by Conradh na Gaeilge estimates that nearly 2 million people are confident at speaking or understanding our native tongue.
The research also shows that 6 in 10 people believe the licence fee should fund an Irish language radio station aimed at young people.
