Evening Update: Kildare and Wicklow Minors Replay Their Leinster Semi Final This Evening: Kfm Sports Special from 6.05; Harrington's Alpha Centauri Wins At Newmarket

A massive weekend for Kildare GAA, with 6 teams in action, begins this evening, at 7, when the minor footballers replay Wicklow in the Leinster semi final in Aughrim.

The U20 footballers and U21 hurlers both play Kerry tomorrow in Limerick; and, of course, on Sunday Kildare play Monaghan in the Super 8’s in Croke Pk at 2pm.

In ladies football on Sunday at 2pm, Kildare play Wexford in the All Ireland Intermediate championship at 2 in Baltinglass.

Also at 2, Kildare minor ladies play Roscommon in the All Ireland minor B final in Moate.

Kfm will have coverage of all the games, beginning tonight..

***Reminder: This evening’s Friday Sports Special, from 6.05, will preview all the weekend Kildare games, featuring managers and players from the various teams – men’s and Ladies.  It will be followed by commentary of the minor replay from 7pm.

Paul Dunne is 3 under after a 70 today

Darren Clarke finished with a 1 under round, to stand level par overall: he’ll miss the projected Cut of 3 under.

Graeme McDowell is 4 under after 14

Padraig Harrington is 1 over for the day and 4 over overall after 15 and will miss the cut.


Alpha Centauri's continued her fantastic season with a dominant display in the Group One Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket.

Jessica Harrington's star filly, winner of the Irish 1,000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes, justified favouritism to complete a Group One hat-trick.

The Moone trainer says a tilt at the Breeders Cup could be next.

There’s racing today at Cork from 5.45.
