Thurs Lunch Update: Ozil Staying at Arsenal: Athletico v Leipzig Champions League Tonight; McGill vs Wilson World Snooker Semi Final

: 08/13/2020 - 12:57

Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil says he'll remain at the club until his contract expires next June.

Manager Mikel Arteta said the playmaker didn't feature after the restart due to "football reasons".
Tottenham striker Heung Min Son has won the Premier League goal of the season award for his goal against Burnley last December.

Former Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen is set to join Benfica on a three year deal - the 33 year old Belgian international is a free agent.

In the Champions League last 8 tonight: Atletico Madrid play RB Leipzig at 8 o’clock in Lisbon.

Atletico were forced to travel to Lisbon for the mini-tournament a day later than planned, after forward Angel Correa and defender Sime Vrsjalko tested positive for the virus.

The pair have been ordered to isolate at home and will undergo further tests today to determine whether they can join the squad should Atletico reach the semi-finals.

The winners will play PSG in the semi final.

Last night PSG scored in the 89th minute to level and the winner two and a half minutes later to beat Atalanta.

Shane Lowry, Graeme McDowell and Seamus Power are in the field for the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina.

McDowell will be first out – and teed off in the last five minutes.

In their World Snooker Championship semi-final, Anthony McGill currently leads Kyren Wilson by 8 frames to 7 in Sheffield.

The semi finals are being played best of 33 frames.

This afternoon, Ronnie O'Sullivan will resume 5-3 up on Mark Selby.

Five-time champion O'Sullivan's last appearance in a Crucible final was his 18-14 defeat by Selby six years ago
