Nurses are talling the HSE today that it needs to pay new recruits appropriately
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation are holding a symposium in Dublin, discussing the problem of understaffing, and attendant overcrowding in Emergency Departments.
It follows a record-breaking August, where 8,000 people were forced to wait on trolleys for care.
INMO General Secretary is Naas woman, Phil Ni Sheaghdha.
She says if recruitment and retention is the issue - the State needs to look at how it's treating it's staff.
