Poor Air Quality Caused By Bushfires Prompts Player To Retire From Australian Open.

: 14/01/2020 - 11:44

Poor air quality caused by ongoing wildfires has forced one player to retire from her Australian Open tennis qualifying match.

Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic  had to be helped off the court in Melbourne after collapsing with a coughing fit during her match against Stefanie Voegel.

Tournament organisers say the conditions are expected to improve and they'll be "monitored constantly".
