Kildare Senator, Mary Ann O'Brien, has confirmed she will join the country's newest poltical party, Renua Ireland, when her term ends.
Owner of Lily O'Briens Chocolates in Newbridge, she is an independent Taoiseach's appointee to the Seanad.
Ms. O'Brien is wife of Jack and Jill Foundation CEO, Jonathan Irwin, who will run in the General Election for the party in the Kildare South constituency.
The couple live in Ballitore.
Renua Ireland was formally launched yesterday by co-founders, Lucinda Creighton, and Curragh resident, Eddie Hobbs.
