The Rotunda Hospital in Dublin has apologised to a mother whose baby was delivered stillborn.
Ethan Carson was pale and unresponsive when he was delivered in September 2015.
A post mortem showed Ethan had died from oxygen deprivation as his umbilical chord was compressed after attaching in a vulnerable position.
This went undiagnosed.
The Rotunda Hospital has apologised to baby Ethan’s mother and family and say the care afforded to them fell below the standard they would expect and aspire to.
