Sexton to Start for Leinster; Carbery and Beirne In Munster Side; Joe Quaid is new Westmeath Hurling Manager; Key Club Football Weekend

The Leinster team team to play the Dragons in the PRO14 tomorrow in the RDS, at 5.15pm, has been named

Captain Johnny Sexton will play his first game of the season.

Rob Kearney comes in at full back, Jordan Larmour moves to the right wing, Dave Kearney is on the left wing.

In the centre Robbie Henshaw and Garry Ringrose.

Jamison Gibson-Park is scrum-half.

Ed Byrne makes his first start of the new campaign at loosehead prop, as does Andrew Porter at tighthead. Seán Cronin is hooker.

Scott Fardy and James Ryan are the second row.

Max Deegan, Josh van der Flier and Jack Conan are the back row.

It will be van der Flier's first game since injuring his ACL in February against France.

 

Athy’s Joey Carbery and Naas’ Tadhg Beirne makes their first start for Munster in the Pro 14 tonight.

Bundee Aki is on the bench for Connacht's game against Edinburgh at Murrayfield.

 

Joe Quaid says he is looking forward to the challenge of taking over as Westmeath hurling manager after he was ratified, last night, as Michael Ryan’s successor.

The Limerick man stepped down from the Kildare job recently after guiding the county to Christy Ring Cup successes, although Kildare were relegated from 2A to 2B in the League.

 

It’s a key weekend in the county club football championships.
