The FAI says it is shocked and disappointed by SIPTU claims that the association's finances are in a "precarious situation".

The trade union has sought a meeting with Minister for Sport Shane Ross to discuss their concerns over the Association’s finances.

The FAI says SIPTU's claims are unfounded.

Former Waterford United director Paul Cooke was today appointed to the sub-committee overseeing the current investigations into the FAI.

Cooke is expected to be confirmed as the new honorary treasurer of the association at July's AGM.
