It could be October or November before the results of the Athy Age Friendly Walkability audit are available to councillors.
The assessment was conducted last year.
Kildare County Council it will be presented to the Athy Municipal District at either either next month, or in November
A working group will then be established.
The audit assessed how accessible the town is for older pedestrians.
