Focus Ireland says there is a growing national crisis among people who are struggling to pay their rent or mortgage every month.
The charity says a new survey shows one in every nine people is worried that they will lose their home.
There are 11,500 households in Kildare living in privately rented accommodation.
The latest study from Daft.ie shows that rents in Kildare rose by 14.7% in the year to December.
