Listen: Auckland Cancels St.Patrick's Day Parade, After A Shooting In Christchurch.

: 03/16/2019 - 11:25

New Zealand's prime minister says the Christchurch shootings suspect had wanted to kill more victims before he was arrested.

28-year-old Brenton Tarrant has appeared in court following the attacks at two mosques that left 49 people dead.

11 people remain in hospital, some of them are reported to be critically ill.

Auckland has cancelled it's St.Patrick's Day as a mark of respect.

Local Christchurch councillor, Deon Swiggs, says help is coming from across the country and a memorial day is also being planned but security concerns may delay it taking place.
