A fund of €50 million to support Irish beef farmers has been agreed upon by the European Commission.
The Government is now being urged to match the funding and bring the total potential aid package to 100 million euro.
The Irish Farmers Association has welcomed the funding, and says it's "vital that every cent goes directly to farmers."
